Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why should I upgrade my old fuse box?

Modern consumer units feature RCDs and Surge Protection Devices that trip instantly if a fault occurs. Old fuse boards with "rewirable" fuses do not provide the same level of protection against fire or shock.

  • How long will my power be off during a fuse box change?

Your power will be off for most of the installation, which typically takes four to six hours. We plan the work to minimize disruption and we always ensure the power is back on before we leave.

  • Do I get a certificate after a consumer unit change?

Yes. We provide a full Electrical Installation Certificate and we notify Building Control on your behalf. These documents are essential if you ever decide to sell or rent your property.
